Amazon has announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for some of its Kindle devices, namely versions 11.3.2.5, 13.3.2.5, and 14.3.2.5 targeted at the Kindle Fire HD 2nd-generation, HDX, and HDX 8.9 tablets, respectively.

When it comes to changes, these new updates include general enhancements that should improve the system’s overall performance. However, you still have to apply the latest release in order to find out what the changes really are.

To do so, first check the currently installed version by going to Quick Settings > Settings > Device > System Updates and ensure it isn't either newer or matching the latest release.

If all is OK, save the appropriate firmware file for your tablet, connect the device to the computer, and copy the .bin file onto the root directory of its internal storage.

Bear in mind that you might need to install the latest version of Android File Transfer (for Mac) or Windows Media Player 11 (for Windows) applications in order to successfully complete the transfer.

When done, disconnect the Kindle, go to Quick Settings > Settings > Device > System Updates, tap the “Update” option, and allow the tablet to perform the installation.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your tablet model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your Kindle Fire to the latest firmware version.
