Later this month, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile will provide the owners of Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia acro S and other smartphones with an update to the Android Jelly Bean operating system, and it seems that it has made another step closer to that.

A new firmware was approved by PTCRB for the aforementioned smartphones, namely software version 6.2.B.0.200, and rumor has it that this should be the Jelly Bean OS upgrade for said smartphones.

A recent article on juggly.cn notes that Sony might have the new software delivered to devices in the near future, given that the necessary certification has been already received.

Last month, Sony started to deliver the Android Jelly Bean update to Xperia P, Xperia go, and Xperia E dual, and also confirmed that it planned on making the same move for Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia acro S soon.
