A new firmware has received the necessary approvals for Sony’s Xperia Z smartphone, namely version 10.4.C.0.797, only several days after another software version was certified for the device.

The new firmware release emerged at the PTCRB for both C6606 and C6616 flavors of the Xperia Z, but there’s no telling on whether it will indeed arrive on devices.

In fact, it would not be the first time that software updates for Sony devices pass the necessary certification process without kicking off an actual rollout.

As XperiaGuide notes, chances are that Sony is making some changes to the firmware before having it ready for deployment, and we might see some more builds getting certified before the actual release.

Hopefully, Sony will share some specific info on this in the not too distant future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
