OCZ releases the 1.4.1.3 version of the firmware for two SSD models in production: the Vertex 4 and the Agility 4. At the same time, the Firmware Update Toolbox has been modified and has reached version 3.02.12.

Firmware 1.4.1.3 brings two fixes for some rather rare mishaps reported by users and will add better RAID compatibility for these solid-state drives. The main fix concerns some corner case issues where the SSD would not resume from S3/ S4 correctly, returning errors and sometimes making a machine reboot necessary.

The other fix addresses a rare problem causing the SSDs to respond incorrectly after a cold boot with certain platforms. Installing the 1.4.1.3 firmware version promises to get rid of these bugs and make your SSD more stable.

OCZ note that the firmware upgrade is not data-destructive when applied to SSD already running firmware 1.4 or above. However, if you plan to upgrade from firmware 1.3 or 1.4 RC, full data backup is mandatory lest you lose everything.

Like with other firmware tools, the toolbox will not run on the very drive you're running your Windows off, so another primary drive is needed.
