Mozilla is moving towards putting in place a Native Android UI for its Firefox browser for the mobile operating system, and has just announced a new advancement in the area, courtesy of implemented Flash in the UI.

Many of those who have been using Firefox on Android device have been asking of the inclusion of Flash support in the browser, and the company seems set to deliver it to users even if the browser changes its looks.

“In the month where Adobe is announcing they are discontinuing Android Flash development, Mozilla is going the opposite and has implemented Flash and recent improvements into the latest Native Android Firefox project,” Tony Chung notes in a recent blog post.

“Since Firefox’s for Android inception back in March 2010, the top request and comment is 'We want Flash, We Want Flash!'

“Why people want that buggy plugin still floors me today, but Mozilla’s heard you loud and clear.”

Chung explains that Brad Lassey, Doug Turner, James Wilcox and the team have already managed to come up with a version of the Native Firefox that sports Flash and which is also performing well.

For course, this does not mean that all things have been resolved and that the new flavor of the mobile browser will make it to devices in the coming days.

There still are various issues to be taken care of, but things are moving fast in the desired direction, and the estimated release date for the new browser flavor might soon become official.

In the meantime, those who would like to have a look at what the new flavor of the browser is all about can download a nightly build and give it a try now.

“So take out your Android phone and your beloved Flash plugin, and take today’s nightly build for a spin,” Tony Chung continues.

“With the combination of significant panning/zooming improvements from my last post, plus a series of awesomebar and tab UI changes, Firefox is looking primer and primer each day.”
