After maintaining a constant increase rate for many months, Firefox has recorded its first decrease in its impressive rise against Microsoft's Internet Explorer, NetApplications says.
FireFox receded to 8.07% in July down from an all time high of 8.71% in June. Meanwhile, Microsoft grew to 87.2% in July up from 86.56%
during June of 2005. The Mac staple, Safari posted modest growth garnering 2.13% while most other browsers experienced little change during the same time period.
"Mozilla recently created a for-profit division just in time to see its FireFox browser drop .7% in 30 days," noted Dan Shapero, Chief Operating Officer. "Microsoft's Internet Explorer actually gained ground at the expense of FireFox recent stride. At 8.07%, FireFox is still flirting with Mass Appeal, so August should be an interesting and telling month."
