Mozilla’s Firefox browser for Android is getting a major UI redesign, currently available in the latest nightly builds of the application.

According to Mozilla UI Engineer Lucas Rocha, the UI revamp includes redesigned and rewritten Awesomescreen and Start Page, which have been merged into a single UI with swipeable pages.

“This means the UI you’ll see on startup is the same that you’ll see when you tap on the URL bar,” Rocha explains.

As mentioned above, the redesigned user interface is already available for download as part of the latest Firefox for Android nightlies, though it should arrive on all devices when Firefox 26 is released.

Those who would like to have a look at what the updated UI is all about will find it available on Mozilla’s website. Just keep in mind that the nightlies are early builds, and they might be plagued by many issues.
