Mozilla is gearing up for the launch of its Firefox OS, after making the first developer devices official last month, and it seems that it is already registering increased interest from app builders for the new mobile platform.

At the Firefox OS App Days, which ended in early February, devs showcased hundreds of applications for the new operating system, with many of them already submitted for approvals in the official portal.

According to Mozilla, it has engaged with over 2,500 developers worldwide for the building of software for Firefox OS, which shows great initial traction.

Of course, the platform will need more devs and more apps to ensure that interest from users will be at high levels. Based on how things look at the moment, however, we could expect for the OS to register popularity from the get-go.
