14 DAY TRIAL // Mozilla is moving forth with the development of its Firefox Mobile browser, which arrived only recently in a beta flavor on devices running under Google's Android operating system.
Not only is the development team making advancements with the mobile browser, but also third-party developers are optimizing their add-ons for use with the mobile application, Mozilla announced.
A wide range of add-ons was already ported to the mobile browser, with many more to come, and some of them are focused on providing users with increased privacy and control over their preferences and settings.
A recent post on the company's blog presents two of these add-ons, namely Clear Mobile History and Cleary, which should fit the needs of all people looking for more privacy control.
“Firefox for mobile users have been asking for ways to clear their private data and history, and these two add-ons help you do just that,” the said blog post reads.
One thing that should be noted here, however, is that “both of them as they have similar but different functionality,” and users should have a look at them to decide whichever fits their needs best.
Clear Mobile History can be installed on Firefox for Mobile without the need to restart the browser, and offers the possibility to clear the browsing history in Firefox.
“Clear Mobile History does exactly what it means. Install this (restartless!) add-on and add a “Clear History” button to the Firefox preferences. This way you can manually select this option at your discretion,” the blog post explains.
With Cleary, users will receive a little more control over data, as it will create a sub-page on which users will find the option to clear various small sets of preferences.
“This add-on creates a sub page for clearing small sets of preferences for certain time durations. It also adds an option for “Clear On Shutdown” which is a handy way of clearing that history, even when you forget,” the blog post continues.
Certainly, these two add-ons for the mobile browser should prove great options for those who are interested in increasing the privacy on their devices.
