What better way to sum up Firefox's quite exciting 2011 than with an infographic. Mozilla has put together what it believes were the highlights of this year along with some numbers for context.
On the one hand, there were a lot of new Firefoxes, so to speak. The Android version made its debut. At the same time, Aurora was introduced to test new features before they're rolled out to everyone.
Don't let the fast release cycle fool you, there have been quite a few improvements in the latest Firefox versions.
For example, Mozilla boast that the latest release is up to seven times faster than Firefox 3.6 and up to 32 times faster than the first Firefox. Memory usage has improved considerably, halving in some cases.
Other interesting stats, 25 billion items have been synced ever since the feature was built into Firefox 4. At the same time, 480 million add-ons have been installed this year alone.
