Firefox in Danger: Boycott Against Its Extensions!

Ads were yesterday! What About Firefox?

Danny Carlton, a website designer is demanding other page owners to join forces and to block Firefox on their websites in order to boycott the Ad Block Plus extension of the browser. It all started from the browser add-on which blocked most of the adverts displayed on the website, a feature that irritated
the website designer because the amount of money he receives was reduced since the users discovered the extension. In case you didn't hear about it, the Ad Block Plus extension helps Firefox to block the adverts and, since many of the page owners are receiving important funds from them, their business is strongly affected.

That's why Danny Carlton created a special website called 'Why Firefox is Blocked', requiring other web designers to implement a special code in their content in order to restrict the access of the Mozilla browser. Since there's no way to block only the extension, he now fights against the entire application until the add-on is disabled.

"Millions of hard working people are being robbed of their time and effort by this type of software. Many site owners therefore install scripts that prevent people using ad blocking software from accessing their site. That is their right as the site owner to insist that the use of their resources accompanies the presence of the ads," the message posted on the official website of the web designer states.

"Since the makers of Ad Block Plus as well as the filter subscriptions that accompany it refuse to allow website owners control over their own intellectual property, and since FireFox actively endorses Ad Block Plus, the sites linking to this page are now blocking FireFox until the resource theft is stopped."

Somehow, Danny Carlton is right because many of the designers are keeping their websites opened using the funds received from advertising. Take the example of AdSense. Numerous registered members published ads on their pages and, every time a visitor clicks on them, a certain amount of money is automatically transferred into his account. Since the Firefox extension blocks most of the ads, the website owner doesn't receive any money.
