An updated flavor of the Firefox Beta application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices out there, namely version 32.

The new application iteration arrives on devices with a nice range of enhancements, all of which should make it inside the stable release as soon as the new beta graduates.

For example, the app provides users with in-browser switching for 54 supported languages, as well as with a Clear History control that can be found in the history panel.

According to Mozilla, the new flavor of Firefox Beta for Android is also meant to provide users with additional customization capabilities when it comes to the app’s home screen, so that they enjoy a better web browsing experience.

“Users can customize their home screen pages to see the Web content they want from a variety of websites, feeds and services,” the company explains in a blog post.

“Just some of the websites, feeds and services that Mozilla has been experimenting with include Instagram, Pocket, Vimeo and Wikipedia. Users can now experience these in Firefox for Android Beta.”

Basically, Android users will be able to set a specific home screen page to appear as default and will also have the option to re-order pages, hide unwanted ones, or hide them all.

They will also have the possibility to install new home screen pages to test them, just as they would do with any other add-on, from the settings menu under tools/add-ons.

Additionally, Mozilla explains that these pages can also be installed straight from the home screen panels collection that can be found on the Mozilla add-ons website.

Moreover, users will enjoy new HTTP caching (v2) enabled by default, along with support for URI autocomplete on Swype and a gamepad API finalized and enabled. The application also comes with integration of generational garbage collection.

The available changelog for the new browser release also reveals that trust bit for some 1024-bit root certificates has been removed and turned off and that support for Android 2.2 and ARMv6 is gone.

Firefox Beta 32 for Android also arrives on devices with a series of changes aimed at developers, the release notes reveal. For example, vibration API has been updated to the latest W3C spec and CSS box-decoration-break replaces -moz-background-inline-policy.

The CSS position:sticky is enabled by default in the new release, the same as the mix-blend-mode. There is also a new Array built-in: Array.from(), along with implemented navigator.languages property and languagechange event.

Given that it is a beta release, the new Firefox 32 for Android still has a series of issues, including one that prevents it from starting on Android L preview, Mozilla notes.

The new Firefox Beta 32 for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
