A new version of Firefox Aurora is now available for download for the users of devices running under Google's Android operating system, following the release of new application flavors in the official and beta channels. The new Aurora flavor of Firefox builds on the enhancements that have been introduced in the version currently available in beta, and adds new features into the mix as well.

The application should arrive on devices as Firefox 10 as soon as the Aurora and Beta development stages have been completed.

When compared to the previously available release of Firefox 10 (nightly / pre-alpha), the new mobile browser iteration brings along a series of fixes too, in addition to other changes and the said new features.

The release notes for the new Firefox Aurora 10 for Android include:

- Anti-Aliasing for WebGL is now implemented - Accelerated layers are now supported via OpenGL ES - We've added IdexedDB APIs to more closely match the specification - It's now even easier to set up Firefox Sync - see the "Set up Sync" link on the home tab - New <bdi> element for bi-directional text isolation, along with supporting CSS properties - For some users, visiting Google+ will cause the back and forward buttons to no longer work - Asus Transformer hardware keyboard is always en-us - Asus Transformer keyboard deletes two characters - The Swiftkey X input method can cause some character duplication issues when using "backspace."

Apparently, there still are a series of issues that haven't been resolved in this release, but which should be solved when the browser advances to the next development stage, including some problems related with HTML5 videos.

Firefox Aurora 10 does not offer support for Adobe Flash and other plugins at the moment, but that might be resolved as the development process advances.

You can download the new Firefox Aurora 10 for Android from Mozilla's website.
