Some of the improvements scheduled for the next Aurora update

A new build for Firefox 9 beta has been released today, but most users are more interested in the development of Aurora.

The work on silent updates feature is close to completion, as removing the UAC popups in Windows was among the thorniest problems. The team expects the feature to be delivered sometime next week. Once this works smoothly, background updates is the next step (currently on hold in nightly builds).

Also, add-on compatibility issues should no longer pop up since they will default to compatible. Thus, users will be able to use the same add-ons across multiple Firefox versions.

Improved sync configuration is already available in Firefox 10. Among the goals is to let the user know that the service is set up and running. The development team is currently working to include add-ons in the loop as well, scheduled for Firefox 11.
