Firefox 7 Aurora has just been released a couple of days ago. If you're looking for something a bit more stable and put through its paces, but still want to get your hands on new features before anyone else, the Firefox 6 Beta which has just been released should be up your alley.

"The latest Mozilla Firefox Beta is now available for download and testing on Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. This release introduces innovative tools to help developers build rich and compelling Web experiences," Mozilla announced.

Firefox 6 Beta comes after the next Firefox in line to become stable has spent several weeks in the Aurora channel, having features polished and bugs fixed.

Firefox 6 Beta comes with plenty of improvements and new features, but they're all incremental and relatively small compared to what Firefox users may still be used to.

But this is how it's going to be moving forward, as new Firefox versions will be showing up every six weeks. Firefox 5 landed a couple of weeks ago, so expect Firefox 6 stable to be available in early August.

One touted new feature is an enhancement of the Add-on Manager which now checks whether your plugins are up to date as well, not only your extensions.

This should make it more likely for users to have the latest and most secure versions of plugins such as Adobe Flash Player.

If you've been enjoying the Panorama feature introduced in Firefox 4, Firefox 6 has a treat for you, only saved tab groups are loaded when you first start the browser, ensuring faster startup time and more efficient memory usage.

If you're concerned about what the sites you visit can access and know about you, the new Data Management Window should come in handy as it enables you to check out all the permissions a site has in one place.

There's plenty more, developers will enjoy the new Web Developer menu item and the new tools aimed at them. You can check out a more complete list of new features and changes in Mozilla's announcement.
