As Mozilla launched the first Firefox 5 Aurora testing Build, the company also made public the release deadlines of Firefox 4.0’s successor as well as of future iterations of the open source browser. Firefox 5 is now available for download through the Aurora Channel, and is the first version of Firefox to make its debut through this new Channel introduced as Mozilla moved to accelerate dramatically the release pace of new iterations.

According to the open source browser vendor, Firefox 5, Firefox 6 and Firefox 7 will all be wrapped up and offered to end users in 2011.

The plans shared with the public reveal that Firefox 5 will be offered to the public on June 21st, 2011, the day when the version is scheduled to graduate from the Beta to the Release Channel.

Firefox 5 will move into Beta on May 17, after spending just five weeks in Aurora. Similarly, Firefox 5 will only spend five weeks in Beta before it will be wrapped up an offered to users worldwide.

Under normal conditions, future Firefox releases will cook for as much as six week in each of the four development Channels, Nightly, Aurora and Beta before being considered ready for release.

It will be the case for Firefox 6 which will move into Aurora on May 24, and into Beta on July 4. If all goes well, Firefox 6 will be migrated to the Release Channel on August 16, 2011.

Firefox 7 will enter Aurora on July 4, Beta on August 16, and Release on September 27.

At the time of Firefox 7’s release later this year, Firefox 8 would already be in Beta while the first Firefox 9 Aurora release would be available to early adopters.
