The fourth beta of Firefox 4 is now available to the public, labeled by Mozilla as a stable release that is safe to use for daily web browsing.

“This Firefox 4 Beta is considered to be stable and safe to use for daily web browsing, though the features and content may change before the final product release,” Mozilla notes.

“At this time many Add-ons may not yet have been tested by their authors to ensure that they are compatible with this release,” the company states, in a routine manner.

“If you wish to help test Add-on compatibility, please install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter - your favorite Add-on author will appreciate it!,” the software company adds.

On its web site, Mozilla proceeds with listing the new additions in Firefox 4 Beta 4, which include a new feature that gives users a visual overview of all open tabs.

This allows users to sort out their tabs by groups.

The feature was called Tab Candy but, starting now, it will be referred to as “Firefox Panorama,” according to Aza Raskin, who designed the tool.

On his blog, Raskin offers a video for those looking to learn how to organize their tabs into groups, “and reclaim your browsing experience from clutter and information overload.”

An experimental API is also included in this release, to provide more efficient Javascript animations, Mozilla says.

The browser now supports the HTML5 video "buffered" property, while Firefox Sync is now included by default.

Firefox 4 Beta 4 is available in 39 languages, and incorporates all the changes from the previous beta.

Mozilla encourages fans to “Check out what’s new, the known issues and frequently asked questions about the latest version of Firefox.”

As usual, users who wish to tell Mozilla what they think about the newest Firefox release are more than welcome to use the browser’s built-in feedback tools.
