Users have to update their systems to get the new Firefox

Canonical has published details about a number of Firefox vulnerabilities in its Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating systems and made available a new version of the browser in their repositories.

After Mozilla released the latest Firefox 32.0.3 Internet browser, the Ubuntu maintainers were quick to make the new version available to the supported OSes.

According to the Ubuntu security report, fraudulent security certificates could have allowed sensitive information to be exposed when accessing the Internet. "Antoine Delignat-Lavaud and others discovered that NSS incorrectly handled parsing ASN.1 values. An attacker could use this issue to forge RSA certificates."

For a more detailed description of the problems, you can check out Canonical's security notification. Firefox users have been advised to upgrade their browser as soon as possible. Just perform a regular update of the system and you will be able to get the new version. Keep in mind that you will need to restart the browser if it was running during the update process.

Alternatively, you can download Mozilla Firefox 32.0.3 right now from Softpedia, but this is just the binary file and users won't be able to install it, just run it. It’s also possible that some of the add-ons will stop working altogether.
