Mozilla has officially announced that a new maintenance version in the Firefox 20.x branch is now available for download.

The new Firefox 20.0.1 for Linux is a very small release, feature wise, but it integrates a large number of security updates.

Highlights of Mozilla Firefox 20.0.1: • An out-of-bounds write in Cairo graphics library has been discovered and fixed; • A crash that affected WebGL rendering, when memory was freed even if it wasn’t previously allocated, has been fixed; • A method for removing the origin indication on tab-modal dialog boxes, in combination with browser navigation, has been corrected; • The Mozilla Updater could have been made to load a malicious local DLL file in a privileged context. This bug was corrected.

A detailed list of changes can be found in the announcement. Update: The aforementioned security updates have been implemented in Firefox 20.0. The new version released, 20.0.1, has several bugfixes, but most of them are for other platforms.

The only problem fixed in the Linux version of Firefox 20.0.1 is related to the management of UNC-formatted paths.
