Mozilla launched the first beta for Firefox 19. The new build adds two new important features as well as increased HTML5 support.

At the top of the list is the introduction of a native PDF viewer, which had been in the works for some time and skipped a couple of versions. By making it available, the need for third-party plugins (which in some cases may break the browsing experience and pose a security risk) is now eliminated.

The built-in PDF viewer is powered by HTML5 and it is JavaScript ready, adding to its rendering performance.

The second novelty available in Firefox 19 is offering to reset the search provider in the Awesome bar when it is changed by third-party software or through the advanced configuration panel (about:config).

Additional modifications refer to increased HTML5 support. The fresh build now supports @page CSS rule, full width for CSS transform-text and makes available CSS viewport-percentage length units (vh, vw, vmin and vmax).
