The fresh build is not officially released at the moment but it is already present on Mozilla’s FTP as well as on Softpedia. The official release notes are also available.

The most significant modification in Firefox 18 is the integration of a new JavaScript engine, dubbed IonMonkey. It replaces JagerMonkey JIT compiler and should deliver greater performance with web apps and games.

Also important is the availability of preliminary support for WebRTC, which adds to Firefox the possibility of real time communication (voice, video and P2P file sharing) without the need of plugins.

For Mac users, the new release brings to the table support for Retina Display on OS X 10.7 and up.
