Canonical announced last evening, February 5, in a security notice, that they've updated the default web browser in all their supported Ubuntu operating systems to Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2.

Firefox 18.0.2 was officially released by Mozilla on February 5 in order to fix a couple of JavaScript related stability issues.

Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2 is now available for all supported Ubuntu platforms, including Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal), Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin), Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx).

All users are urged to upgrade to the new version as soon as possible, using the built-in Update Manager tool.

Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2 for Linux binaries and sources can also be downloaded right now from Softpedia. Also, don't forget to visit our always up-to-date Firefox Extensions section for the latest add-ons.
