Development team still on their toes for issues and conflicts

Mozilla scheduled the official release for the stable version of Firefox 16 for today, but the installer has already been uploaded to their servers. It is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux).

This release does not feature the stub installer we’ve first seen adopted by Aurora version of the browser and more recently in the beta build.

Because Firefox 16 rolls out on a Microsoft Patch Tuesday, it will be available as a throttled update in order to check for conflicts or issues with Windows Update service.

Some users reported problems with Trusteer Rapport, a malware-fighting application that seems to be the cause of some Flash crashes. The developer advises either to update the program to the latest version or to disable it.

Also, the development team is on their toes for reports about slowness of the browser, which came in for Firefox 15 and Firefox 16 beta.
