The stable build for Mozilla Firefox 16 just hit the web, officially, for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). The current build has been available for download for some time, but no official notes have been released until moments ago.

Firefox 16 brings to the table initial support for web apps and improves JavaScript responsiveness through incremental garbage collection (a method of cleaning up memory).

On Mac OS X the new version, the preliminary support for VoiceOver has been turned on by default.

Web developers benefit from a new toolbar, designed to ease access to tools, error count for the Web Console and a command line for keyboard access.

On the same note, CSS3 Animations, Transitions, Transforms and Gradients come unprefixed in Firefox 16 and Scratchpad can show the history of recently opened files.
