Firefox 10 has been released at the end of January and we’ve all seen the new features it offers. However, the performance of the web browser, compared to the previous version, also changed, for the better, as you can see from the results of our testing.

We compared Firefox 10 and 9 in Kraken JavaScript benchmark (lower is better) and the newest build came out on top, in all our tests. With only 206.74ms apart, the performance gap between the two is not huge, but it is enough to count and to reveal that the newer version is faster.

The average download time recorded by Firefox 10 was 2697.96ms, while Firefox 9 scored a tad poorer, averaging 2904.7ms. You can check out the results for some of the tests in the image gallery below.
