14 DAY TRIAL // Developers QMXi and Spark Plug Games announce that they are set to launch their Firefly Online experience on the PC during the summer of next year.
The title is based on the short-lived television series of the same name, which follows the adventures of a ragtag crew as they try to keep flying through space while avoiding all its potential dangers.
The show has a cult following and was created by Joss Whedon, who is not involved in the game at the moment, according to io9.
Gamers will need to create their own Captain Mal character, then choose a ship and a crew and search for missions in the star system, trying to make money while staying clear of the central authorities and avoiding the attacks of the Reavers.
The title will be free-to-play and will encourage players to interact with one another and trade valuable resources.
