The development team at Red 5 Studios working on Firefall announces that all Player versus Player gameplay in the MMO has been suspended and that it is at the moment evaluating how to rework systems in order to improve the player experience.

Mark Kern, the chief executive officer of the company, is quoted by TenTonHammer as saying that, “People want more content, fewer bugs, and more polish on these world systems. For these reasons, we have made the tough decision to suspend PvP and take the system offline so that we can rethink it and relaunch it.”

Red 5 Studios says that it does not have a timetable for the re-launch of PvP in Firefall.

The team also acknowledges that the origin of the game is in modes that pit gamers against each other but the chosen eSports route has not proven a hit with the community and needs to be abandoned.
