The development team at Red 5 Studios announces that the open beta stage for its free-to-play shooter MMO Firefall will be launched on July 9 of this year, complete with new content for all fans of the title.

James Macauley, the vice president of development at Red 5 Studios, states, “We’re incredibly excited to be nearing what we consider to be the most important stage of Firefall’s development – Open Beta.”

He adds, “We’re looking forward to welcoming these new players into the community and continuing to build an amazing game together.”

Until the open beta for Firefall is launched, the development team will continue to deliver updates for the closed testing period, adding city power levels, melding exploration, chosen instances and crafting.

Those who want to get in the beta immediately can buy a Founders Pack for Firefall.
