Open source enthusiast will have to wait a little longer for their favourite browser to have an update.
The fact that Google had hired the lead developer for the Mozilla Firefox browser, Ben Goodger could have a lot to do with this delay. Google could develop its own browser (maybe a gbrowser..?)
and that is why they got in touch with Goodger, whose job will be to ensure a smooth transition for the open source Mozilla Firefox. Goodger said he will maintain his ties with the Mozilla.org development team, although others in the community are skeptical.

History of an announced update

This first delay in developing the Firefox 1.1 could mean Goodger can't deal with the two jobs as he might have expected and Firefox takes second place. Version 1.1 was set to be released in March, however on Goodger's blog, he says this is a bit unrealistic. One of the major fixes expected in Firefox 1.1 was repairing the bug that causes the browser not to retain the scroll position when going back and forward through Web pages.

Anyway, when the browser will see some changes it should be first as a 1.1 Developer Preview, then a 1.1 Preview and finally the long awaited Firefox 1.1.
