The beta version is expected for August

Mozilla has a strange system for updating its famous open-source browser. Although the versions up to the 1.0.6 had a normal updating rate, the next version will change this normality, and Firefox will make a quantum leap up to 1.5.

We are not able to tell you what the producers have against 1.1 - 1.4, but one thing is for sure: the roadmap announced by Mozilla clearly points out that the next version of Firefox will be 1.5 and it will be released in September. Users will be able to get a taste of the next version, at best somewhere in August, when a Beta version is rumored to be released.

Tristan Nitot, president of Mozilla Europa, said that skipping the intermediary 1.1 version is due to Firefox's quick evolution. Version 1.5 will offer a significant number of new features, and this is one of the reasons why they have decided to leap to 1.5.

Unfortunately, an exact release date has not been specified, which is somehow understandable considering the difficulty of meeting the imposed deadlines.
