Version 103 of Finnix, a small, self-contained, bootable Linux CD distribution for system administrators, based on Debian testing, has just been released.

Finnix 103 is the nineteenth release in the series and comes only after three months since the release of version 102 and six years since the relaunch of Finnix 86.0 in 2005.

Finnix 103 incorporates several new important features such as forensic mode (when booted with the "forensic" or "forensics" boot flags (Finnix changes its behavior to minimize the chance of loading suspect code or writing to suspect media).

entropy generation was added in Finnix 103, as well as a large number of bug fixes and new packages.

A known issue remains in Finnix 103, as explaided by the developers, booting from a Firewire CDROM drive is currently broken.
