AuthenTec has announced a two-piece fingerprint security solution which includes an Eikon fingerprint sensor and TrueSuite identity management software that works with MacBook computers.

Supporting both OS X Snow Leopard and Lion, the new Eikon-TrueSuite from AuthenTec boasts one-finger website-logon, QuickLaunch (launch to favorite websites; associate websites with different fingers), easy fingerprint enrollment/setup, fast user switching, and automatic updates.

The Eikon fingerprint reader for Mac OS X and the matching TrueSuite software will be released in March. The solution costs $59.95 and you’ll be able to purchase it through Apple’s online store, via Amazon.com, or through AuthenTec’s Web store.

Tom Aebli, AuthenTec vice president of software and eCommerce said his company was “pleased to offer Mac users the same fingerprint security and convenience features already enjoyed by millions of Windows PC users.”
