Find the Perfect Recipe for Any Occasion with Yahoo Search

Continuing a trend among search engines of late, Yahoo has now added a dedicated Recipe search tab and is also including recipe results in the main results page for some queries.

The new tab, as is pretty self-evident, will enable users find the perfect meal for any time of the day or to try something different.

"Spend less time looking for new recipes and more time making your newfound creations. Browse through images of the best and highest rated recipes from top culinary sources on the web," Yahoo announced.

"Just search on Yahoo! for a food item + recipes (for example: 'apple recipes' or 'artichoke recipes') and a window will appear on top of the search results page with top popular choices from leading food sites," it added.

Recipes may seem like an odd choice to the average internet user, even those using Yahoo Search, but it's an useful tool in many cases and, more importantly, it showcases what a dedicated search vertical should look like.

Apart from showing up in the regular search results page, there is also a dedicated Recipes section with more options and tools for more advanced searches.

There are plenty of filtering options enabling you to narrow down your search and there are also ways of discovering new things that you may not have searched for yourself, like other ingredients and interesting combinations.

Yahoo is also revamping a couple of existing search tools. Shopping results follow the style of the new integrated recipe search results. For certain queries, you'll get product listings along with photos, prices and reviews on top of the regular search results.

Finally, the entertainment results page is also getting an update. There's a greater emphasis on news, which sit on top of the regular results and there's also a dedicated Twitter search filter which would allow you to see what's the latest news on the site.
