Google has published another useful video for webmasters, featuring Google expert Matt Cutts, about the always popular subject 'cloaking.' Cloaking is sending the Googlebot a different content than you'd send to your regular visitors.
It's easy to understand why some websites would want to do that and why Google doesn't like it.
Google doesn't allow any type of cloaking, any code written to target the Googlebot specifically is a violation of Google's search quality rules.
In the video, Matt explains what cloaking is and how to know if you're doing it. In essence, the best thing to do is to check whether you're using code that's written specifically for the Googlebot or the Googlebot IP.
You can use Webmaster Tools to check to see how the Googlebot sees your page, via Fetch as GoogleBot
