Comcast Interactive Media, a company offering on-demand TV shows and movies, has released an updated application for Apple device owners delivering the ability to stream Live TV channels.

You read that right. If you’re a user of the XFINITY TV or Comcast Digital Video service and you happen to be wielding an iOS device, you can now use a Wi-Fi Internet connection to watch Live TV anywhere.

You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection both for streaming and for downloading video, and you will only be able to do that on iPhone 4 (and higher), iPad 2 (and higher) or Retina iPod touches. iOS 6 is the minimum requirement.

It also helps to have an XFINITY TV or Comcast Digital Video service, plus a subscription to one or more eligible channels. That is, if you don’t want to stare at the app without a single TV show in sight.

In addition to the Live TV thing, people who already use XFINITY TV Go will notice improved behavior thanks to some “bug fixes and performance improvements,” according to Comcast. Download XFINITY TV Go for iPhone and iPad and enjoy!
