About two months ago, I discovered a very promising post-apocalyptic MMORPG game called Fallen Earth and I was wondering when the Beta testing started. It seems that it's still pretty far away into the future, but a few lucky people will get the chance to test the game since an early Alpha stage has just been announced by the developers. The test will begin on the 14th of August and will run through early 2009, when the Beta testing starts.

For this brand new game, lots of things were rebuilt and re-created during the past months and the developers promise an experience like no other, with giant super soldiers, vicious killer fungi and completely revamped towns. Also, a lot of new vehicle models have been created and the entire vehicle combat system improved in order to offer players the best experience on the market. And we truly hope they have actually managed to do all these because we are always hyped by things we can consider "the best".

Fallen Earth Project Manager Colin Dwan said, "During the Alpha test phase, testers will be focused into specific towns so we can have miniature stress tests each week. They will be able to experience all of our game systems including missions, combat, crafting, scavenging, economy, and vehicles. We are extremely excited to move from general content creation to game balance and bug fixing".

Fallen Earth is a post-apocalyptic MMOG that mixes first person shooter and role playing game style mechanics. The game is set in 2156, one hundred years after the world was almost destroyed by a plague known as Shiva that killed 99% of the population. The game takes place in and around the Grand Canyon, one of the few habitable places left on Earth, which makes it, of course, one for which many are willing to kill in order to control it.

In Fallen Earth's world, mankind is still fighting against extinction, trying to recover the lost secrets of the old one. It's a world of scavengers and desperation where the players are those who choose to rise above the hardships of this new universe and strive for a better one, or decide that the old one was corrupt and all signs of it must be erased completely.
