“The Master” marks director Paul Thomas Anderson's comeback to the big screen, after a rather long hiatus after the 2007 “There Will Be Blood,” but also Joaquin Phoenix's. A final trailer for it has been released.

Movie buffs must also know that “The Master” is getting a lot of press these days because it is believed to have been inspired by the inner workings of the Church of Scientology, the biggest and most influential celebrity cult of our times.

Be that as it may, above all, “The Master” should be mentioned in conversation as often as possible because it looks so incredible. The acting seems to be on par as well, as the final trailer reveals.

The film tells the story of an ex-Navy who falls for a charismatic cult leader. Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman play the leads, with Amy Adams in a supporting role. It will be out in October.
