Russian security company Kaspersky made available the final versions of its anti-virus products built with Windows Vista in mind. Back at the end of April, when Kaspersky delivered the public beta versions Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, the anti-virus maker revealed the fact that the seventh-generation of its security products
were focused on both the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of the Windows Vista operating system. And although the official date for the final release of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is August 1, trial downloads of the two security solutions are already available for download.

Just a couple of week ago, Kaspersky informed that the Certified for Windows Vista logo will be an integer part of the marketing associated with Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0. And despite a certain level of friction between Kaspersky and Microsoft, over the true level of security delivered by Windows Vista, Dave Wascha, director of Windows Client Product Management at Microsoft, welcomed the certification of Kaspersky's new line of products. The Redmond company stressed from the start that Vista is not a panacea for security. Kaspersky never applauded Vista as a silver bullet, and even downplayed the relevance that the latest Windows operating system would play in protecting customers, over traditional anti-virus solutions.

Still, Wascha did praise Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 for the security characteristics, as well as the advanced integration with Vista, including aspects such as reliability and compatibility. The fact of the matter is that certification through Microsoft's Vista logo program is an easy ride for adoption by users of the platform. Right now, users will be able to get their hands on 30-day trial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 can be downloaded from here.
