Final Fantasy XV does not yet have an official launch date, but Hajime Tabata, the director working on the project, claims that at the moment the experience is 60 percent done and that his team is working hard to make sure that gamers get access to it as soon as possible.

Apparently, in September the completion rate was at only 55% and the game maker says that progress might seem slow for fans, but the company has managed to complete some core elements and the pace might pick up in the coming months.

Speaking to IGN, Hajime Tabata states, "In some ways I’m being very conservative in my estimates there and not wanting to put out too big a number. Developing big games on a large scale like this you have uneven development processes where some things are nearly done, and others are still at prototype stage."

He also says that important resources are at the moment occupied with the development of the demo that will be part of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

Once those are freed, gamers who love the series will be able to see faster increases in the completion rates.

The Duscae episode which will be offered to gamers is designed to reveal some of the core ideas powering the title, but it will only represent about 10 percent of the final experience.

Final Fantasy Type-o HD will be launched on March 17.

Final Fantasy XV will deliver new mechanics and universe

The new Japanese role-playing game will no longer use many classic elements of the franchise.

The setting is not linked to traditional fantasy and will have many concepts which make it close to present day Earth, with characters able to move around by car and with a bigger focus on emotions that seem realistic.

The battle system is also being tweaked by Square Enix to make it more accessible to larger groups of gamers while keeping it within the JRPG tradition.

Final Fantasy XV will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft and does not yet have a launch date, even if most of the community believes that it will be available before the end of the year.
