Square Enix has revealed more information regarding the upcoming Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo, available to play on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 home consoles.

The Final Fantasy XV demo will accompany Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, the remake of the popular PlayStation Portable Japanese role-playing game, launching on March 17 in North America, March 19 in Japan, and March 20 in Europe, on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One computer entertainment systems.

The HD edition of the game includes spiffy visuals but lacks the multiplayer component of the 2011 original, sadly. The story focuses on a group of students at a military academy, dubbed Class Zero, taking on the forces of an invading nation attempting to secure dominance of some magical crystals.

The demo will be accessible through a download token included in the "Day One" physical editions of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and also bundled with the digital copies of the game for a limited duration, as DualShockers reports.

Developer and publisher Square Enix has revealed that gamers will be able to redeem the download codes from March 20, 2015, until March 20, 2016, and that the demo will be playable indefinitely. This means that the demo won't commit suicide after a certain duration and that it will be available until you delete it from your hard drive.

The demo is neat but expensive

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae will include the region of Duscae for players to explore at will, with several hours of playtime and many hidden secrets to uncover. Duscae is just one of the regions added to the final edition of the game.

Players will be able to choose between the English and Japanese voiceover tracks. The next installment in the long-running Final Fantasy series has been in the making for quite a while, so no doubt there will be many players milking the demo dry and inspecting every little nook and cranny, before the game's launch.

Final Fantasy XV does not yet have a release date. It will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home consoles, and you can't secure access to the demo any other way but by purchasing Type-0 HD.
