Noaki Yoshida, the game director working on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, admits that the original version of the Square Enix MMO lacked quality and that a repeat of the buggy launch would affect the quality in the long term.
The developer tells Kotaku that, “We won’t make a mistake like FF14 again – if we did, it would be like at the level of destroying the company.”
Apparently a lot of people inside the development team were worried and criticized the decision to launch FF XIV in its initial shape.
He adds, “When I heard that it was going to go on sale as planned, I thought, that will probably be a big mistake.”
A Realm Reborn is designed to fix all the problems of the original while offering Final Fantasy fans a more complex MMO universe to explore.
