Wired's Chris Kohler brings to the world a very interesting piece of news, through his GameLife gaming blog: Final Fantasy XIII isn't a PS3 exclusive. Not only that, but it never actually was. Kohler says that in an interview with French news site DNA, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe vice president stated that Final Fantasy XIII's exclusivity to PlayStation3 was under discussion. Translated and all, he said: "Finally, for Final Fantasy XIII, I can tell you that exclusivity is being discussed."

FF XIII was declared the first numbered Final Fantasy game for the Sony PlayStation3 console. Unveiled at E3 2006, the game features a high-tech futuristic world. The only characters revealed thus far are a woman with the code name Lightning who wields a gunblade-like weapon, and an unnamed, giant man who is her ally. Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 director Motomu Toriyama returned as the director of the game and according to Square Enix President Yoichi Wada, the storyline would focus on "those who resist the world."

All this and other details give a clue about why people thought it was a next-gen console, thus a PS3 exclusive action RPG title. Also, there is the Fabula Nova Crystallis (Latin for The New Tale of the Chrystal) bundle. What, don't tell me you didn't know? You're not a true fan then. The bundle includes FF XIII and FF Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. As this is a PS3 exclusive bundle...well, you make the connections.
