According to demo version

As previously reported, Final Fantasy XIII, the next great role playing game from developer Square Enix, is set to get a demo version out when the Advent Children Blu-ray is released in Japan - tomorrow, April 16. And it seems that the demo itself is confirming that the videogame will be released in “winter 2009.”

Previous statements from Square Enix also pointed to the same release window, when its president, Yoichi Wada, stated that, despite facing delays on another title, Dragon Quest IX, the team working on Final Fantasy XIII, would not be affected in any way. Of course, the screen that appears after the Japanese demo of the game and which is attached to this article is probably only referring to the period the game would be out in Japan.

Initially, Final Fantasy XIII was set to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, one of those titles supposed to take advantage of the technical edge of the Sony made console and draw players to the device.

Microsoft executed a public relations coup at last year's E3, when it announced that the videogame would also arrive on the Xbox 360. This was the reason cited for pushing back the world wide release of the title back into 2010. The release for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 will take place at the same time.

Final Fantasy XIII is eagerly awaited by the fans of the long running series and by those interested in Japanese role playing games. Square Enix is saying that it plans to return to the battle system that made Final Fantasy X a very good game, while also creating a multi layered story set to explore the destinies of several characters while telling a larger tale related to the entire gaming world.
