Final Fantasy has always been a hit and a pretty long game to play, so trips and tricks will always be welcome, specially when gil is so scarce in this Final Fantasy installment. A little bit of farming never hurt no one, and if you don't know what gil is, let's say that it's the currency used in all the FF games till now. The trick that I'm about to reveal will pretty much ease the task of completing the game with a pretty large amount of gil.
Final Fantasy XII Hint - Post-Raithwall Gil FarmingAfter the The Tomb of Raithwall, you may find yourself in a bit of gil trouble setting up your characters. Get Thief's Cuffs and Dragoon's Monograph. Golden Amulets for the characters not in play is a good investment as well.
Head to Dalmasca Westerland and go to the section called The Western Divide and go into the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea. Stay in the section "Platform East Tanks" because your targets are Alraune's. With the Thiefs Cuffs you're able to steal Succulent Fruits (300g) and Maces (900g). The Monograph in place will make Alraunes drop up to 1-3 Succulent Fruits!
The important thing to remember is you must be able to chain Alraunes to get better drops! The best way to do this is to dive into the next section and grab the 2 Alraunes on the first platform, then go down the stairs and up the left platform for another 2. Last 2-3 in this area is tricky, head north to the M-pathed platform for 2-3 more Alraunes, just make sure not to kill any other creature that may break the chain. By the time you're finishing up these 6 you can go back to "Platform East Tanks" and clear the respawned mobs. Simply head back to the crystal and out the next screen to respawn everything and do it again!
Doing this I was able to make 100,000 gil an hour. Happy hunting!
Easy Gil The easiest way to gain money fast at the beginning of the game is to do the first hunt mission. Also, Steal from the Cactoid in the Eastern Sands. You will Steal a Cactus Fruit usually. This sells for about 77 or more Gil each, allowing you to get a decent amount of money to start the game.
Once you can access the Salikawood after the Mosphoran Highwaste in Nabradia you can do this trick. Go north into the section of Salikawood
called Quietened Trace. There should be a Gate Crystal. Save the game and switch to just one character. This character should be able to equip the Thief's Cuffs accessory. Enter the Grand Bower section of Salikawood. The Giant Bomb optional Boss will appear. Steal from it, then exit the area. Heal at the crystal and repeat as much as desired. The three items you can steal from him are Bomb Shell (common) which sell for about 900 Gil each; Fire Crystal (uncommon) which sell for about 100 Gil each; and the Bomb Fragment (rare) which sell for about 2,000 Gil each.
Easy experience and Gil While going through the Nam-Yensa Sandsea, go to the northern most part of The Sandscale Bank. You will encounter an enemy named Bagolys. They are worth 448 to 676 experience points each and can drop Bent Staffs, which are worth approximately 1,300 Gil each. Fight them, leave, then come back. Repeat this as much as desired.
On the mission of the Blue Basilisk "Nidhogg", one of the parts of the roads is a place where lots of skeletons keep appearing. If they stop, go off two maps then return. The skeletons will respawn. This requires a lot of patience, but it will result in both experience points and Gil because you get Bone Fragments and Iron Helms which sell for 182 and 300 Gil respectively.
Final Fantasy XII Hint - Tortoise XP FarmingAt level 20 you can do the quest Withered tree bridge in Giza Plains. There are six withered trees located around the map, after all six are chopped down you can gain access to the level 37 silicon tortoise.
The way to get tons of experience points per fight is to get to the location via party. Make sure all members have job trait charge magic, reflect and gravity.
When you zone into area where the tortoise are located go solo with one character, cast refect on yourself and start fight off with steal, once you steal start running in a circle around the tortoise in safe distance as not to get hit by the mob or its lights out.
It will start to cast AGA spells on you but with reflect on they will bounce of yourself and hit the tortoise instead. While circling around the tortoise cast gravity over and over. It will do around 3000 damage to the tortoise and eventually will take the mob down for around 3,500 exp per kill. There are four tortoise on the island so the experience will add up quickly.
Remember to do it one member at a time and to have those spells or else this exploit won't work. I got 7 levels per character in no time plus good loot from the steal/drop items, plus its a lot of fun as opposed to the same old experience points game play. The only downfall is the lack of license points as opposed to regular combat. You will receive around 3 per kill. I made up for it by returning to the Lhusu mines and kill there for around 3 hours or so for ridiculous license/money items.
Near invincibility This trick requires two or more party members. To gain near immortality, set all party member's Gambits to "If HP < 70" and "Cure" . Your party members will now constantly cure you and your MP will always regenerate. If you run out of MP, add another Gambit to use potions "If HP < 30".
EspersThe Espers are the creatures you can summon in Final Fantasy XII and they haven't changed much if you compare them to the previous installments. You'll have to fight them in order to make them your allies and they will be crucial in your battles, so you'd better get all of them right away. While some of them will seem eager to join the party, others will put up a very frustrating fight.
Adrammeleck Esper This Esper is located at Athroza Quicksands in Zertinan Caverns. The place where you fight him has many other monsters that join him. Do not attempt to fight him until you can routinely kill a numerous amount of level 40 monsters at the same time. Be aware that he is not summoning them. If you can keep from pushing the battle to areas you have not yet walked on you should be able to stop them from springing up from the ground. One monster spawns for about every one or two square feet in relation to your character
Exodus EsperThis Esper becomes available after you battle Cid in Draklor Laboratories. Go to the Babbleing Vale in the Moshphoran Highwastes. One of the villagers there by one of the shires will tell you that the shrines have started working, but he is not sure what they do. Activate the three eastern wind ones first (northeastern, eastern, and southeastern). You can only activate three at a time. Look at your map and you will see three new marks on it that indicate bridges have formed to areas you could not reach previously. Next move east to the Rays of Ashen Light section and find the Chocobo in the northern section. Feed him a Gyshal Green and ride him through the newly opened area to the end where you will see a path leading onward blocked by bushes that only a Chocobo can cross.
This will take you to the Sky Reach Ridge section on the western side of the Vale. From here you can enter the Vale and activate a shrine that was out of reach before. Once you have gone north of the shrine to the big boulder, you will find a section that you can break to clear a path into the Vale. You must now activate one more shrine to get access to Exodus. It is the north or northwestern shrine; check your map to be sure. It will open a place near the last shrine you activated on the northern part of Sky Reach Ridge. Next, go back to Sky Reach Ridge and fight him. Part way through the battle he will become immune to physical attacks. He is very good at keeping up his reflect barrier. Make sure to dispel it before hitting him with magic. He has some very powerful magical attacks, like flare.
Queklain EsperIt is recommended that you be at level 45 or higher before attempting to obtain this Esper. First, successfully complete the Mob Hunt mission for White Mousse to get the Water Gate Key. Go to the Central Control area and use the Water Gate Key to close the gates to the 11th and 4th areas, using the little pedestals on the ground. Then, go into the 4th Accessory District and find a control for the 1st area gate and activate it. Return to the Central Control area and reopen the 11th and 4th gates, then close the 10th and 3rd gates. Next, go to the 3rd Accessory District and again close the switch to the 1st area. Return again and open the 10th gate and close the 4th. You should now be able to go to the south part of the 1st Control Area where you will find the Queklain Boss. Defeat the Boss to get the Queklain Esper.
Zodiac EsperGet ten or more Espers and finish the Mindflare Mob Hunt mission (rank B). Next, talk to Feng Shui Master Yuggil in Jaharago. Then, go to Henne Mines to fight the Zodiac Boss. Defeat the Boss to get the Zodiac Esper.
