14 DAY TRIAL // Square Enix announces the incoming release of Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster on the PlayStation 4 home entertainment system from Sony.
Final Fantasy X and its sequel, X-2, are some of the most popular and beloved entries in the long-standing role-playing game series. FFX originally came out on the PlayStation 2, back in 2001, followed by X-2, the first direct sequel in the franchise, in 2003.
The story follows Tidus, a blitzball player who joins the young and beautiful Yuna on her quest to save Spira from a colossal menace known as Sin. The second installment sees High Summoner Yuna returning to the world of Spira in order to uncover the mystery behind the cryptic messages hidden in the spheres she hunts.
The remastered edition of the two titles was released by developer and publisher Square Enix on the PS3 and PS Vita platforms back in March 2014, offering fans the chance to play a more up-to-date edition of the timeless adventure.

The games included spruced-up 3D visuals and a host of improvements, and the PlayStation 4 edition will come with some neat system exclusive features, as well as a special pre-order bonus, in the form of an exclusive calendar featuring artwork from the legendary Yoshitaka Amano.
Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster includes the two base games alongside Final Fantasy X: Eternal Calm and Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission, originally exclusive to Japan.
The games come with cross-save functionality, which means that players will be able to save and continue their progress across the PlayStation family of devices, including the PS Vita handheld.
Additionally, gamers will also be able to enjoy the titles by making use of the PlayStation Vita's remote play functionality, and will be able to switch between the original and the remastered soundtrack versions.
Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster will land on the PS4 on May 12, 2015.
