Sony has just wrapped up its traditional press conference before the start of the Tokyo Games Show, and has confirmed quite a lot of impressive games for its PlayStation Vita handheld console, as well as some that will be arriving on the PlayStation 3 as well.

Sony's TGS 2011 lineup includes a massive number of games, including a whopping 18 unannounced titles for the PlayStation Vita. At the company's pre-TGS conference, Sony has confirmed quite a few of the all-new ones, like Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid HD collection or Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Katamari Damacy.

First up, Square Enix took the stage and confirmed that Final Fantasy X, the extremely popular Japanese role playing game released back in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, will be remastered in HD both for the PlayStation Vita as well as the PlayStation 3.

The company said that this edition is going to mark the special 10th anniversary of the game, but declined to showcase any footage, confirming that the Vita and PS3 versions will have similar performance and specs.

More HD goodness is coming to the Vita through the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders HD collections, previously confirmed just for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 home consoles. The Vita editions will support the 'Transfarring' feature, meaning those who play them on the PlayStation 3 can easily transfer their save games to the Vita and continue their experience where they left off. The two collections are coming sometime in 2012 for the handheld device.

Other new games are also coming to the Vita, with Japanese magazine Famitsu, via Kotaku, seemingly confirming that versions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Katamari Damacy and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 are going to be released for the portable device soon.

Square Enix is also reported to be bringing two other role playing games to the Vita, including Armies of Hell and Lord of Apocalypse.

No official word on any of these titles just yet, but you can be sure that the aforementioned HD games are going to appear for the Vita next year.
