Square Enix has confirmed that it will finally re-release Final Fantasy VII, but it will only deploy it onto the PC platform, via Valve’s Steam digital distribution service.

Final Fantasy VII is a cult classic and, despite its popularity, Square Enix has been resilient in front of petitions and pleas from fans that want to see the PS1 title remastered and released for current platforms.

Now, after hearing a rumor last month, Square Enix has confirmed that it will, in fact, re-release Final Fantasy VII but without any sort of graphical improvements and only on the PC, via Steam.

The company revealed that special features are now included in the game, from the support of achievements and cloud saves, not to mention the new PC hardware, to a special Character Booster option that allows players to automatically improve their stats during battles.

As of yet, Final Fantasy VII for the PC doesn’t have a release date. You can, however, enjoy its first trailer above.
