Soon, owners of Android and iOS devices will be able to enjoy the benefits of yet another title in the Final Fantasy series, namely Final Fantasy VI.

This classic title arrived on Super Nintendo with 2D graphics, and it is said by many to be the best in the series, PhoneArena notes.

Apparently, Square Enix has already confirmed to Kotaku its plans on bringing a remake of the original Final Fantasy VI game to mobile platforms, optimizing it for the smaller screens of smartphones.

The title will arrive with feature 2D graphics, just as the original, but with a series of other modifications and enhancements, so as to make it easier for mobile phone users to enjoy it.

“The battle systems have been altered for the other [mobile remakes] for Final Fantasy and VI will be the same,” Square director and producer Takashi Tokita reportedly said.

For instance, grinding was an issue and people had to spend a lot of time leveling up. Now on the mobile devices the battle systems have been adjusted so you don't have to fight as much and can enjoy the game for what it is."

Furthermore, Tokita suggested that Final Fantasy VII, the most popular title in the series, could arrive on mobile devices as well, though no definitive decision on the matter appears to have been made.

“We are aware that we have tons of VII fans,” he noted. “We have VII fans in our own company. If this Legacy project works out well, we would like to one day be able to work with VII,” he said.

While no release date for Final Fantasy VI for mobiles has been provided, rumor has it that the game might arrive this winter. It could be priced at $15.99 (€12), the same as other remakes of the original Final Fantasy titles.
