Square Enix confirmed yesterday that Final Fantasy VI for Android would be out at some point today. Well, Final Fantasy fans will be happy to know that the game is now available for download via Google Play Store.

The sixth installment in the series promises recreated graphics by Kazuko Shibuya, one of the graphics designers involved in the Final Fantasy series from the very start.

It comes with a few innovations since the time it was released, back in 1994, such as the ability to play all the main characters as the game's protagonist.

Moreover, developers have confirmed that the Android release includes “the new magicites and events that were introduced in the 2006 remake.” Obviously, some of these events have been optimized to be played with user-friendly touch controls.

You can now download Final Fantasy VI for Android for £10.99/€14.99/$17.99 via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the game should be fully compatible with most devices running Android 3.2 and up.
