Ultimate Utopia XIII

I don't know if Square-Enix can take this sort of joke, but some crazy students managed to create a parody movie called Ultimate Utopia XIII. The short clip mocks most of the RPG games, especially Final Fantasy and you can tell that by the combat system and the battle animations. It's still insanely funny and one of the fun things to do while waiting for Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3.

This is not the first parody that involves one of Square-Enix's titles, as few years ago a clip that showed the characters in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie dancing to the beat of Michael Jackson's Thriller. Pixar was the responsible and that video had a tremendous success, but I can't really say that the fans were pleased. What's good about Ultimate Utopia XIII is that everything has been taken care of and it even has an official price and cover. Of course, that's a mockery too and the fans will recognize some of Square's content played during the clip. It starts with the theme song from Chrono Cross and during the battles you'll hear the Final Fantasy VII combat theme.

There are limit breaks, spells and all sorts of classic battle animations included in the video and its creators must be real FF fans, or maybe some fanatic haters. If the people at Square-Enix have an open mind, they'll see this for what it really is: some free publicity and a harmless mockery. Even the so-called producer of Ultimate Utopia XIII is called Circle, so you might want to pay attention to the puns from the title - Ultimate - Final, Fantasy - Utopia, and so on. Check out the video below:
